Which is probably why I found a crate full of these in an old toy warehouse....unsold. 

They are 16cm tall, hard plastic - textured to look like fur on the bear and...the handle is a tree branch

They rattle exceptionally well but I would not advise giving these to small children - the plastic would shatter if hit hard.

There is the odd age mark on the surface - they are at least 75 years old, maybe older ...I found them in a big crate packed with straw and sealed with nails.
